Bridging Military Leadership and Corporate Success

After serving 23 years in the Indian Navy's Submarine Branch, I faced the same challenge many veterans encounter: how to translate military experience into language that corporate recruiters and hiring managers understand.

The transition was not easy. Despite leading teams of over 200+ personnel, managing complex technical operations and maintenance, driving technical projects, conducting foundational and advanced training for submariners, contributing to policy formulation, planning and strategy, and making critical decisions in high-pressure environments, I struggled to communicate these capabilities in ways that resonated with corporate employers.

Through persistence, guidance from veterans who had successfully made the transition, and learning to reframe my experience in business terms, I moved into corporate consulting, managing World Bank-funded e-Governance projects and later leading initiatives in the skilling sector. Within four years, I progressed to a Director-level role, overseeing operations across multiple regions.
